DR. DUSTIN GOODWIN

Family

 

Dr. Dustin Goodwin grew up in Layton, Utah where he met his wife, Jodi at church. They were not too fond of each other until both returned from serving LDS missions. Jodi served in Guatemala, and Dustin served in Honduras. They have five wonderful children who are their pride and joy; four daughters, and one son.  As a family they enjoy camping, canyoneering, hiking, 4-wheeling, exploring, and spending time supporting each other in church, community, school, music, dance, and sporting events.

 

Education

 

Dr. Goodwin completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and Weber State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, with a minor in Spanish. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry where he graduated with Cum Laude Honors in 2001.

 

Since graduation Dr. Goodwin has continued to pursue dental education to improve his skills and to provide better care for his patients.  He attends several advanced continuing education courses each year.  He has received extensive training in Orthodontics, Implants, I.V. Conscious Sedation, and Cosmetic Dentistry. He is currently pursuing training in TMJ treatment, sleep apnea, 3D cone beam radiology, and sinus lift surgery for implants.

 

Goals

 

Dr. Goodwin takes great pride in the quality of care that he provides his "dental family". His goal is to provide the highest level of care possible, in the most comfortable way possible, with the very latest in techniques and technology. He continually invests in education for himself and his staff, and in advanced dental technology. Some examples include: CEREC computer designing and milling of crowns (crowns can be made and cemented in place in one visit!), Galileos 3D cone-beam radiology (an x-ray that creates a 3D image of the cone and teeth for exact implant placement), all digital x-rays (reduces radiation expose up to 90%), Dolphin orthodontic planning software (for more predictable results with braces), and Schick intraoral Imaging (so you can see what the dentist sees), just to name a few.

Dr. Goodwin has dedicated his life to providing great dental care. To that end, he has adopted a set of values that he uses to make every decision with regards to the care that he provides:

 

1. He desires every patient to be comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
2. He wants whatever dental care that was provided to last the patient a long time.
3. He strives to make every treatment look fantastic.
4. He works hard to restore dental function that may have been lost due to dental problems.
